“The Interior Design Business” is a new, business-focused podcast series set up to offer best practice guidance, engaging insights and expert advice for professional interior designers. Co-hosted by Susie Rumbold, a Past President of the British Institute of Interior Design and Principal of London-based design firm, Tessuto, and Jeff Hayward, Director at Wildwood PR, “The Interior Design Business” is a free-to-listen series with new episodes released every month.
Podcasts provide a perfect way for the interior design community to connect. Practices and practitioners have grown, evolved and succeeded thanks to the sharing of ideas and experiences freely given by others. “The Interior Design Business” embodies that same community spirit. Each episode will provide designer-led content that’s entertaining, informative and very easy for other designers to access, when they’re on the move, or with a spare half hour to tune in at home or in the office. The series itself will also serve as a networking platform, hosting events to bring designers together in industry showrooms throughout the year.
Every episode of “The Interior Design Business” will see designers, educators and influencers give their views and experiences on similar business themes and also share their own life-changing design moments. Topics covered to date include design fees, managing contractors and integrating home technology, with contributions from Lori Pinkerton-Rolet of Park Grove Design, Kia Stanford of Kia Designs and Alistair Ingram of Clearsphere. The latest episode discusses the state of design education in the company of Jenny Gibbs, Principal at KLC School of Design.
