On Friday 30th November, more than 215 PR professionals gathered at Bristol’s Marriott Hotel for the CIPR South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards – a celebration of the region’s annual public relations success stories. The Wildwood team was delighted to be there to celebrate with our colleagues in the industry, after being nominated for awards in two categories; Best Publication and Outstanding Young Communicator.
The Wildwood team has recently worked with media intelligence and social monitoring company Meltwater to develop a webinar on competitor benchmarking and its importance.
We were delighted to be asked to present a webinar by the Meltwater team as it gave us the opportunity to explain the benefits of monitoring and analysing competitor data. Within the webinar we provided a brief introduction into competitive intelligence, outlined why it is important and more importantly how it can be done.

Meridian Audio, the pioneers of high resolution audio, hosted a ‘Distributed by Meridian Day’ at its UK headquarters in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire on the 28th of June, and I was lucky enough to be invited to experience the event first-hand. Still being fairly new to the Wildwood team, this was my first time visiting Meridian HQ and meeting the Meridian team. I was excited to take part in the workshop whilst simultaneously gaining a further understanding of Meridian.
The 2018 CIPR South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards shortlist was announced today and Wildwood is delighted to have been nominated in two categories.
Wildwood is a contender for ‘Best Publication’ for CEDIA Communicates, a quarterly magazine that provides information on the latest home technology industry news and developments, as well as updates on CEDIA’s activities and initiatives. Making it through the entry and interview stages, Senior Account Executive, Becky Vance, who has been at Wildwood for over two years, has been nominated under the category of ‘Best Young Communicator’.
New permanent home will give the exhibition a chance to grow

Green Grants of up to £10k available for SMEs in the South East
A visit from University of Brighton and their Green Growth Platform updated us recently on grants currently available to help SMEs (less than 250 employees or a turnover of less than £44m) and based in the South East.
Putting together a panel discussion can be time consuming and stressful. It’s important to get the right opportunity, a good idea that will appeal to an audience, and, or course the right people to sit on the panel. All these elements have to come together for success.
And when it works, it’s hugely satisfying. Our experience on industry outreach with our client AVIXA is a case in point.
There are many tools to help promote your business products and services as well as developing your brand. Face to face networking is one such tool that can become a powerful means of acquiring new business and developing those all-important business relationships – remember, people buy from people.
