It is February – a month when for the last 15 or so years, various members of the team at Wildwood would normally be found either pounding the halls at ISE or taking a well-earned break in the ISE Press Office. We would be arranging interviews on booths, prepping for press launches, hustling to get a ticket for CresFest, queuing for the post-show buses or rushing to get to the chemist for copious supplies of plasters – it was always a week of many steps (26,500 in one day was my record) and lots and lots of networking. #ISE2021
Two members of the company have joined Together for Cinema, a charity scheme that sees the AV industry come together to design and install home cinemas in hospices across the UK.
We’ve got a new showreel! Highlighting our repertoire of digital expertise, it’s a visual smorgasbord of ideas from recent Wildwood projects. From podcasts and infographics, virtual press conferences and webinars, discover how we can help with your next campaign.
In recent months we have seen the cancellation of many exhibitions and events, an unfortunate but understandable consequence of COVID-19. However, this has not stopped us from planning and executing conferences and get-togethers. We are now taking our plans digital. So, how do you attract people to attend your digital events? For our latest press launch we went with cocktails…… well, not just cocktails, the strong message and newsworthy content we had to share was vital but cocktail hour didn’t hurt either.
Tips for Effective Communication
We are living in an uncertain world. No one knows what is going on in the short- or long-term future, but as lockdown restrictions start to ease, Lorraine Nugent of Wildwood PR gives us her top tips for effective communication.

I began my placement year with Wildwood in 2018, and thus far, it has probably been the most memorable and invaluable experience that I’ve had in my four years of university. Taking on a year-long work placement was optional, but I chose this route because university is so much more than just a degree. It’s very important for you to be able to stand out from the crowd and offer future employers more than other candidates have to offer and doing a work placement provides this differentiator. This has already proven to be true in the job applications that I’ve started.

In these extraordinary times it would be remiss to say that it’s ‘business as usual’ at Wildwood. However, as much as possible, we are certainly ‘open for business’ and continuing to operate as normal a service as possible. The team is all set up to work from home and we’re even managing a team meeting every morning – often with an extra guest or two (a dachshund, a toddler, two Siamese cats, a cockatiel and Oscar’s Dad, so far!).

Hi! As the official PR agency for kbb and with the show just days away, I thought it would be a great opportunity to point out some of the ‘must-sees’ at this year’s kbb Birmingham…

As official sponsors of the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) press office, the Wildwood team was out in force at ISE 2020, from the 10th to 14th February. We have several clients on the show floor, so the team were busy accompanying media to stands, talking business, and making new contacts. But for me, one of the most satisfying parts of ISE was seeing the turnout and value gained from our client’s networking events.
We’re delighted to be shortlisted in TWO categories at the CIPR PRide Awards this year. Vying for success in the South of England & Channel Islands region is rising star, Melissa Baker, a finalist in the Outstanding Young Communicator category whilst our new ‘Integrated Home’ podcast series has been shortlisted in the Best Use of Content category.
