In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, many fundraising events in the UK have been postponed or cancelled. Unfortunately, this means many charities across the UK have been left struggling to maintain their services, at a time when people need them the most.

On Sunday 26th April, the day that the 40th London Marathon —the world’s biggest one day annual fundraising event — should have taken place, the Wildwood team joined together in spirit for the 2.6 challenge.

The challenge involved any activities based around the numbers 26 or 2.6 – here’s what the Wildwood Home Heroes got up to (abiding by social distancing regulations):

  • 26.2k cycle
  • 6.2 mile run
  • 2.6 minute plank
  • 2.6 minute wall sit
  • 26 skips
  • 2.6 mile run
  • 26 kettlebell swings
  • 26 minutes of yoga
  • 26 badminton rallies
  • 26 nursery rhymes
  • 26-minute HIIT session
  • 26 question (virtual) pub quiz
  • 26-minute Joe Wicks P.E session

After each challenge, we each donated to some of the UK’s charities and community groups. The total raised so far currently stands at over £7,000,000 and we’re so proud to have played our part in that.

Now, we challenge you – what is your #TwoPointSixChallenge?
